Last night at the 2012 Billboard Music Awards Whitney Houston was honored with the Millennium Award along with a musical performance. I would have never guessed that John Legend and Jordin Sparks could do such lovely renditions of Whitney’s music…job well done. Ironically Whitney's last recording was a duet with Jordin, released today, to be on the upcoming movie Sparkle's soundtrack...

  This year’s Billboard Awards airing this Sunday, May 20th at 8pm on ABC, is planning a tribute to honor Whitney Houston. A Millennium Award will also be awarded to her legacy said to be accepted by Whitney’s daughter, Bobbi Kristina, and her sister-in-law Pat Houston. Can someone tell me why Pat is involved? I know this is an honoring moment but Bobbi Kris is no child, she could obviously accept this award on her own, something tells me she didn’t ask for Pat to shadow her.  Let me be more specific…I don’t know much about Pat Houston, who was once Whitney’s manager, but the vibe I got from her during the Oprah Winfrey interview wasn’t the best. Her recollections leading up to Whitney’s death seemed off but more than that something about her didn’t come off very genuine. There were also claims that the reason Bobbi Kris stood the whole 5 minutes of her interview was because she didn’t want to do it, I wonder why she did the interview anyway? Hmmmm . Now Pa...

  I already planned to see the remake of Sparkle but after looking at the trailer and witnessing the cast I am officially eager to see this movie. I think Whitney Houston's last film role, which was slated to be her comeback role, will  be a box office hit...I CANNOT WAIT!!! I hope that the Bobbi Kristina portion of this interview isn't the last 5 minutes of this broadcast but moreso than that I hope this isn't too soon after Whitney's death for Bobbi Kris to open up to the public especially with all the speculations and scandals surrounding her mother's death. RIP Whitney Elizabeth Houston August 9, 1963- February 11, 2012. Hearing Whitney sing still brings me to chills, may here legacy never be forgotten... There are no plans of a public memorial service at this time but Whitney's funeral will be held at her childhood church, New Hope Baptist, tomorrow. The Associated Press will air a live stream of the service as well as grant access to air on television. This is still unbelievable to me....enjoy your weekend loves.

I managed not to look at the pics from the Clive Davis annual Pre-Grammy party for a few days but I gave in last night and I must say the pictures are a tad bit disturbing. Not only do I think I couldn't have attended the party, but if I had to I know I wouldn't be all smiles knowing that Whitney Houston's lifeless body lies 3 floors up all while I pose for cameras, drink and take on normal festivities of a party...I know I couldn't have. Many of the first guests to arrive were able to see the crime lab truck still parked outside of the hotel... Take a lookse... There are reports that Miss Ross, who was honored at the party, managed to perform and not even mention Whitney's name...hmph. Brandy and Monica were scheduled to perform at the event as I stated earlier this week ...Brandy looks distraught, as if she doesn't want to be there. Poor thang. Since this party Sharon Osbourne and Chaka Khan have spoken out about their disgust for the party still going on. C...

On last night's Valentine's Day episode of  Fox's Glee Amber Riley's character, Mercedes Jones, sang Whitney Houston's classic rendition of I Will Always Love You for her romantic song selection. The show was already taped well advance and it was purely coincidental that producers chose this song for the episode. However, the show was dedicated to Whitney with a message at the end of the show: "Whitney Houston 1963-2012. We will always love you." take a looksee! This was excellent, very well done!!! Was she busy Sunday?

Chaka Khan visited the Piers Morgan show on CNN to talk fondly about her "little sister" Whitney Houston. During the interview Chaka spoke of getting high with Whitney and Bobby (Chaka went public with her drug use years ago), Whitney being in LA unchaperoned for a week and most openly spoke about her disbelief in Clive Davis going forth with his Pre Grammy Party. Chaka took to Twitter to dispel  rumors of her involvement  in a tribute being put together for the following day at the Grammys for her dear friend.   "As I grieve the loss of my friend and 'little sister,' I don't feel it appropriate to perform at this time. I've been wanting to post this video for the last couple of days but didn't want to do it so soon but now I feel it's only appropriate...this was hilarious!!! I swear I think of this clip every time I hear some silly ass reporter or celebrity (yeah I said it) speculating on Whitney's life and or death....just shut up! Fact: Whitney will be laid to rest in Newark, New Jersey where the singer grew up. Whitney's body was flown from LA to NJ on Tyler Perry's personal plane. The date for the funeral that is mostly being stated is Saturday. Whitney's body arrived at Whingham Funeral last night before midnight in a beautiful gold hearse.

Many people are aware of the infamous radio interview that Wendy Williams did with Whitney Houston a few years back, but what many don't know is that Wendy is a former drug user herself. Now Wendy has never been hush hush about her past with crack but she's noWhitney Houston, this information wasn't front page news. I feel compelled to not only have today's Song Of The Day be a Whitney Houston classic but the entire week has to be all Whitney's music...and all of next week if I feel like it. This is one of my favorite songs and videos by Whitney Houston, I simply loved how angelic she looked in this video and the lyrics deserve no explanation. This is how I will always remember her no matter how she's painted in the media. Enjoy your day and loved ones.
