The 2016 MTV Movie Awards are finally upon us, and we couldn't be more excited to see who will take home the golden popcorn trophy for Best Action Performance.

The competition is pretty steep in the action-packed category, which features nominations of box office hits like "Jurassic World," "San Andreas," Star Wars: The Force Awakens," "Deadpool" and "Furious 7."

However, we're really hoping to see Jennifer Lawrence take home the award for her tremendous work in "The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 2."

Check out our list of the top three reasons we think J. Law should win the MTV Movie Award for Best Action performance below:

3. Katniss is the leader against oppression, and should be rewarded for it: Katniss isn't just District 12's savior, but the character is an amazing example of a strong woman leading the courageous charge against socialism and poverty. While J. Law's character is definitely radiating girl power, she's truly all about the betterment of society and people as a whole. It's her sincerity and genuine compassion for mankind that not only brings many of the suffering districts together but overall inspires the revolt against President Snow. Of course, being one beast of a solider and a mercenary with a bow and arrow certainly helped -- all which Lawrence portrayed effortlessly.

2. Lawrence is the only female nominated, and she kicks butt throughout the entire film: Not only did Lawrence impress us with her archery and other combat tricks in the final installment of "The Hunger Games" series, but she's literally been kicking butt for four films straight. Of course watching Chris Pratt take down dinosaurs in "Jurassic World" is hot and exciting, but we simply can't get over the fact that Lawrence's character has only developed into a stronger and smarter fighter since she first took her little sister's place as the District 12 tribute in "The Hunger Games." We're so used to seeing the fellas get recognition for their action scenes. We think it's time for the ladies to start getting the recognition they deserve too, especially one who has been bringing the pain movie after movie.

1. "The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 2" is loaded with non stop action: Aside from having to take down one of the cruelest and scarriest political leaders, J. Law's character had to face a ton of obstacles just to get to the evil President Snow. From taking down peacekeepers, setting literally everything on fire and the many surprises Katniss faced on her journey to the Capitol, nearly every second of THG was jam packed with explosive moments. And to think, the ring leader in the midst of all the action was a girl.
