James McAvoy, the actor who portrays Professor Charles Xavier in the "X-Men" films, might have ended his contract with the franchise after shooting "Apocalypse," but if it were only up to him, he would come back to do more mutant films in a heartbeat.

McAvoy told The Business Standard that he's actually heard rumors of co-star Jennifer Lawrence not wanting to reprise her role as Mystique anymore. However, McAvoy said that the rumors were untrue.

"I've heard... People have said she's not into it, stuff like that. She's always said to me that she would think about it," Mcavoy said. "I hope she does, because I love working with Jennifer. You know, we've been, like, an extended sort of family, in a weird way, for six or seven years now."

Even Lawrence herself debunked those rumors when she had an interview with Empire.

"I am dying to come back [as Mystique]," she said. "I love these movies, I love being in them. I love ensemble movies because it's not on anyone's shoulders."

Aside from McAvoy and Lawrence, other stars who ended their contracts with the franchise include Michael Fassbender as Magneto and Nicholas Hoult as Beast.

"Apocalypse" also introduced a lot of new and younger players to the franchise, such as Sophie Turner as Jean Grey, Tye Sheridan as Scott Summers and Kodi Smit-McPhee as Nightcrawler.

These young mutants will come to terms with their powers in the movie and even develop a romantic relationship.

"It's really interesting to see the young douchebag Scott, and the young, shy Jean, and watching them fall out and make up and this weird chemistry they have," Turner earlier told Digital Spy.

Meanwhile, Sheridan said that Scott is the way he is "because a lot happened in his past, and he's damaged, and in this movie you kind of see why."

"X-Men: Apocalypse" will hit cinemas on May 27.
