"Mr. Robot" season 2 is already filming. A few details about the upcoming installment has also been revealed, but there are still a lot of things that fans should keep an eye out for.

The first installment of the series provided a couple of major shockers, prompting fans to expect that the upcoming season will also feature surprising twists. Series creator Sam Esmail, however, does not want fans to keep their hopes up.

"I'm honestly not tricking anyone," Esmail, who is directing all episodes of the upcoming season, told Variety. "I don't want to trick anyone. I want people to feel the reveals and have the reveals impact them in a way."

Esmail also shared that the upcoming installment will be very different from the pilot and that working on it will be like going "back to square one."

"The first season's critical acclaim and the response gave us a lot of confidence, but it's almost like the pressure kinds of cancels it out," the showrunner-director said. "I'm back to square one, which is exactly where I think we should be in terms of approaching the story for the second season."

Esmail also mentioned how USA network gave him free reign over the show's flow since he has already mapped out how things will end.

The showrunner mentioned in an interview with Entertainment Weekly last year that he plans to end the series after three or four seasons.

"One thing I never wanted to do with this show was to take a road where we can just go on and on and belabor this until the ratings drop and they cancel it or we end it," Esmail said. "I really wanted the narrative to have a purpose. We are heading toward that ending ... For me, the utmost importance is having a clear narrative engine and a clear ending that we're moving toward."

"Mr. Robot" season 2 is expected to air in the summer.
