'Scream Queens' Season 2: Glen Powell Talks Character's Bromance On Hit Fox TV Show

"Scream Queens" star Glen Powell has opened up about playing a frat boy on the hit Fox show and in Richard Linklater's upcoming film, "Everybody Wants Some!!"

In an interview with Variety, the actor compared the characters he has on the show and in the film, saying: "The Dicky Dollar Scholars are a little bit of a cartoon bromance. 'Everybody Wants Some!!' is probably a little more realistic."

The actor added: "I didn't realize that my brand was romance!"

Powell's character in "Scream Queens," Chad Radwell, shared a bromance with Nick Jonas' Boon in the first season, but the character's arc in season 2 has not been confirmed. Powell himself is in the dark about what Chad will do in the upcoming installment of the show.

In another interview with Variety, the actor said that he only knows that the new season will be "at some sort of mental institution," but he has yet to get details.

"To be honest with you, I saw [series co-creator] Brad [Falchuk] at his birthday the other day before I left for Texas, but I have not talked to Brad about it at all," Powell said. "So all I know is that it's some sort of mental institution."

Speaking of his character, the actor said: "The beauty of that character is he's not really a character that fits into the plot necessarily. He's just a guy who's there to make you laugh, so that's why I kind of love him so much."

Powell added: "There's no real plot pressure. There are very few plot scenes that you need to cloud your brain with. Chad was just there for fun and it just worked because it's so well-written."

Powell will appear on the show next season alongside returning cast members Jamie Lee Curtis, Emma Roberts, Keke Palmer, Abigail Breslin, Billie Lourd and Niecy Nash.

"Scream Queens" season 2 is expected to air in October.
