The 2016 MTV Movie Awards show is fast approaching. The awards given during the show vary in more ways than one — there are ones for Best Kiss and Best Fight, among many others — and it has received flak because of it, but there are some categories that are worth noting and their nominees worth watching. The Best True Story is one of those categories.

Below are the films based on inspiring lives of real people.

1. "Concussion"

The sports drama is based on the work of Dr. Bennet Omalu (Will Smith), who, after conducting an autopsy on former NFL football player Mike Webster (David Morse), found out that the player suffered from something that is similar to Alzheimer's, but it was caused by football-related trauma.

2. "Joy"

The 2015 film starring Jennifer Lawrence was loosely based on the life of Miracle Mop inventor, Joy Mangano. The film got bad reviews, but Lawrence's performance was commended. Some critics even said that it was Lawrence's performance that pulled the entire film together.

3. "Steve Jobs"

The movie starring Michael Fassbender as Apple's co-founder and marketing master gives viewers a look at how Jobs helped catapult the tech company into one of the biggest brands in the world today.

4. "Straight Outta Compton"

The film, which was nominated for the NAACP Image Award for Outstanding Writing and a Satellite Award for Best Original Screenplay, tells the story of a group that revolutionized music and pop culture in 1988.

5. "The Big Short"

The movie starring Ryan Gosling as Jared Vennett tackles the 2007-2008 financial crisis in the U.S.

6. "The Revenant"

The film, which served as a vehicle for Leonardo DiCaprio's first Oscar, tells the story of a man who sustained injuries from a bear attack in 1823 and was left for dead by his companion. However, DiCaprio's character, Hugh Glass, used his survival skills and was able to escape what seemed like his imminent death.

All of these films are good, but which one should win? Let us know by answering our poll below!

The MTV Movie Awards will air on Sunday, April 10, at 8 p.m. EST on MTV.
