"Recovery Road" has finished its first season, and fans have started to ask whether it will get a new installment. Freeform has not announced anything yet, but since the show's first run was good, a renewal might be in the cards. Below are three reasons why the series should get picked up.

1. The story is relatable and inspiring.

The main arc of "Recovery Road" is Maddie's (Jessica Sula) road to sobriety. The show features the struggles and triumphs of being a teen struggling with alcohol and drug addiction. The depiction of drug addicts and people who aspire to be sober is realistic, according to many fans.

The struggles of the other characters are also given a focus, like Maddie's mom (Sharon Leal), who's trying to cope with forging a good relationship with her daughter and moving on with her life after her husband's death.

2. The show has gotten great reviews.

The series has received positive reviews from various media outlets, including Variety and AVClub. The show was praised for the way it did not overly dramatize the stories of the characters.

A portion of an early review on Variety reads: "If 'Recovery Road' continues to progress on the trajectory it lays out in its first three installments, it may leave both teens and those in recovery feeling that, for once, a TV drama hasn't patronized them."

3. The cast is amazing.

Everyone in the cast gave wonderful performances during the first season, but Sula deserves credit for her portrayal of Maddie. The actress, who was previously on U.K.'s "Skins," made Maddie a relatable character that anyone would root for despite her sarcasm and over-reaction.

The supporting characters also gave outstanding performances and helped glue the show together.
