Director Taika Waititi has exciting plans for Marvel's "Thor: Ragnarok," but one of the biggest challenges he is facing is keeping the cost of production under budget.

"That's all it's about. If you come in under budget and on time you can do what you want, really. Just stick to what the idea of the story is. I always do that," he told Crave Online.

"And I've talked a lot about my style and the way I work on set, which is very improvisational. I make up a lot of shots on the spot sometimes but I always have a plan," he continued.

However, Waititi said that he likes to keep an open mind when it comes to directing. Even though he worked hard on his plan, he wouldn't mind listening to any input given by the cast or crew.

"I always plan what I'm going to do and then I'll throw that plan away when I see what the actors want to do, and then we have to come to a common ground and figure that out," he said.

Waititi added that he wants to bring the story's focus back to Thor (played by Chris Hemsworth), because "if you're going to call the movie 'Thor,' Thor has to be the best character."

It seems like humor will also play a big role in the third installment of the "Thor" franchise. "My strength in this is bringing my style of humour, which is probably a very different style of humor," Waititi said.

Meanwhile, the Gold Coast Bulletin reported that the film is expected to spend more than $100 million in Australia and employ at least 750 Queensland locals as part of the crew. Pre-production will already start six weeks before cameras start rolling in June.

"Thor: Ragnarok" will be released on Nov. 3, 2017.
